This is important as diesel vehicles of model year 2007 or later need diesel fuel having lower sulfur limits than in low sulfur diesel (LSD). In case these vehicles are dispensed LSD, it can damage permanently the emission control equipment of vehicles. To meet the labeling needs, the EPA requires that all important transfer documents identify the kind of fuel being transferred while transferring the diesel fuel.
